• The ColdEh Difference.

Despite all the advances in energy generation technology, many still struggle with the technology used to store fresh and frozen food efficiently without draining precious power resources.

ColdEh air-cooled systems deliver a new approach

    to energy efficient marine refrigeration.

ColdEh's unique system adjusts itself to changes and extremes in ambient temperatures.

Unlike old air-cooled systems your ColdEh system will not lose efficiency as temperatures rise.

We make it simple to run at peak efficiency all the time.

Make ColdEh your choice for full-time, recreational and off-grid use.

    Advanced Technology.

ColdEh air-cooled systems eliminate blocked capillary tubes, corroded aluminum components, and water-cooling.

The ColdEh system is simple and sophisticated.

We did our research and identified opportunities to improve marine refrigeration design component by component.

Then we built the best system possible - uniquely matching quality, efficient components together.

    The result?

ColdEh is cost-effective and easy to install.

ColdEh stands up to extreme weather conditions delivering corrosion and hassle-free performance.

    Smarter Cold.

ColdEh automatically adjusts its cooling capability according to the compartment's load.

You get easy-to-set consistent refrigeration and freezing temperatures.

Our secret? ColdEh's core components are made from pure copper

for the highest thermal conductivity and fastest cool down.

It is easy to keep food and drinks as cold as you want (more ice anyone?)

Want a system you can count on year after year?

ColdEh is built to be reliable.

Enjoy remarkably quiet performance with such little operating heat that you can install it almost anywhere.

Let ColdEh take the worry and work out of your refrigeration maintenance and make solar-powered-only simple.

It is the ultimate in affordable luxury.

  • ColdEh Performance. Tested.

Unparalleled energy efficiency with powerful and reliable performance even in warmer waters

You told us what you wanted. We listened.

    • Energy efficiency is the #1 benefit desired in a new marine refrigeration system -- to support efficient system energy management aboard (see the October 2017 blog "What is the #1 benefit?")
    • Help to deal with old 'energy eating' refrigeration -- well-found older and previously owned vessel refit and renovation investment is increasing and refrigeration is a top 5 refit choice

    • Boaters worldwide are facing inoperable or failing refrigeration systems... we have helped people in 4 continents!

    • Marine enthusiasts consider cost first in the 'cost vs. price' decision... choosing their refrigeration systems to avoid the cost of replacement, short-life and need for constant maintenance

    • Those embracing new sailing lifestyles and long-term live-aboard intentions, particularly in warm climates, want to enjoy the 'the comforts of home' (and that includes having dependable cold food storage... effortlessly)
    • Refrigeration run by solar power only is a top goal of our customers! (it can be done)
    • High-quality refrigeration systems are a consideration that contribute to added resale value

    How are ColdEhenergy savings calculated*?

ColdEh calculates estimated energy savings by comparing test system run-time rates and the average rates noted by leading refrigeration system providers. Our rigorous tests have been performed in 70F/21C and 120F/49C ambient environments. The result? 30% energy consumption savings.

What makes ColdEh systems energy efficient?

ColdEh Systems have more copper than any other marine refrigeration.

Copper is first choice for high thermal conductivity, operating almost 90% more efficient than aluminum when transferring heat from the air to refrigerant (and 30X better than stainless steel).

That is why ColdEh’s exclusive custom-copper evaporator plate design is a refrigeration heat transfer platform that removes heat more efficiently, so your system cools down quickly and stays cool, saving you energy (perfect for solar applications).

How do changing weather and ambient temperature condition effect ColdEhenergy use?

As the ambient temperature increases your ColdEh refrigeration system automatically increases the rate it exchanges heat with its surroundings. The unique high-efficiency copper components work with a Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) to deliver consistent performance even as temperatures soar and your foodstuffs load and use increase.

It takes very little energy to maintain constant compartment temperature.

The air-cooled condensing unit runs quietly and efficiently, eliminating the power draw experienced

with auxiliary pumps found in water-cooled refrigeration systems.

What is the cost of energy inefficiency?

Price is a simple number. How much money do I need to hand you to get this thing?

Cost is more relevant, more real and more complicated.

Cost is what you have to give up to get the convenience of safe food storage.

Cost is how much power it takes to feed the system.

Cost is how much time, money and intrusion it takes to install the system.

Cost is how much effort it takes to care for it, maintain it and troubleshoot it.

Cost is my lack of focus because of noise and heat it makes.

Cost is the externalities, the side effects.Just about every time, cost matters more than price.

ColdEh refrigeration systems do not have the lowest price.

But we work to ensure that they have the lowest cost to you.

And that is our work to deliver the most energy-efficient systems for you.
